Members

Dear Members,

Several new resources are being offered to those who have lost their homes in the recent wildfires.

First, on Wednesday January 29th from 12:00 PM to 1:30 PM, the Entertainment Community Fund will host a zoom workshop, Navigating FEMA for the Entertainment Industry. This workshop is co-sponsored by industry unions, guilds, associations and nonprofit service providers. Topics covered include:

  • The application process, grant size, timeframes, and what is and is not covered
  • Support for temporary housing or relocation
  • Navigating denials and the appeal process
  • Understanding FEMA and Common Myths – insurance claims, GoFundMe efforts

RSVP here for the link to this workshop. There will also be a second FEMA webinar on Monday, February 3rd; we will update the WGAW Wildfire Resources page with the registration information when it is available, so check back.

Second, the Center for Cultural Innovation is offering the LA Arts Community Fire Relief Fund to assist arts workers whose homes or businesses have been lost or faced severe damage due to the Eaton or Palisades fires. Individuals may apply for up to $10,000. The application deadline is Tuesday, February 18, 2025

Additional details including the application are available on the Center for Cultural Innovation website.

Third, the Entertainment Community Fund is hosting a weekly drop-in support group on Tuesdays at noon PST. Create an ECF portal account or log in if you already have one to access the group.

In addition, a reminder that the application for a Writers Guild Member Fund grant is now open. Please contact the Guild to request your verification/eligibility letter to upload as part of your application.

Please continue to check WGAW Wildfire Resources for updates as new forms of relief become available, and email Wildfires with any further questions.

Thank you.
