Dear Members,
We know many of you are affected by the devastating fires in Los Angeles County. We hope that you and your loved ones are safe. While this remains a developing situation and we know some members will have to reckon with the losses for a long time to come, we wanted to offer some immediate information about resources.
First, if you are currently displaced by the fires and need financial assistance, WGAW Good & Welfare emergency assistance loans are available. In this time of crisis, the Guild will expedite this assistance. Please contact the Legal Department via email or by phone (323) 782-4521 to request a Good & Welfare emergency assistance loan.
The Entertainment Community Fund (ECF) is also acutely aware of the impact these fires will have on those in the industry, including writers. For those needing emergency financial assistance or other support services, you can request an intake by calling (323) 933-9244, emailing western@entertainmentcommunity.org or accessing the Fund’s website portal via www.entertainmentcommunity.org. The ECF will be updating its website with additional information.
