RSVP to attend WGAW’s The Art of the Ask: Grant Writing Masterclass for Writers Looking to Greenlight Projects on Saturday, September 26, 2026, from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. at WGAW, 2nd Floor, Del Reisman Multi-purpose Room.

This grant writing masterclass aims to equip and empower writers with the language, strategy, and confidence to pursue funding opportunities. Our goal is to help writers greenlight their own work and move their projects forward. Topics to be explored include: the basics of finding and applying for grants, selling yourself and your project, funder perspective (who gives out grants), and spotlighting success stories (how grant recipients utilize their grant funding). Speakers include Ashley Flores (Manager, Fiction Programs, Film Independent), Julie Lacouture (Writers Guild Foundation Executive Director), and writer-director-producer Deborah Pratt. Breakfast provided. Co-presented by WGAW’s Committee of Women Writers and Writers Education Committee.

Member check-in/breakfast served from 9:00 a.m. – 9:30 a.m.
