Boldly Go: A Star Trek Writers Reunion

Presented by WGAW’s Genre Committee, this Guild panel event celebrates nearly 60 years of Star Trek by gathering writers from across various Trek series – past and present – to share their writing process with members and how they helped shape one of television’s most iconic franchises. We’ll discuss the inner workings of various series’ writers rooms, suggestions on how to effectively pitch story ideas in those rooms, and what lessons all writers can learn from those working in The Final Frontier. This is an event WGA members/writers will not want to miss – a holiday treat for our hardcore Genre Committee members. Featured panelists include Star Trek writers Kirsten Beyer (Star Trek: Picard, Strange New Worlds, Discovery), Brannon Braga (Star Trek: The Next Generation, Voyager, Enterprise, and Star Trek: Generations and First Contact), Akela Cooper (Star Trek: Strange New Worlds), Chris Derrick (Star Trek: Picard), Robert Hewitt Wolfe (Star Trek: Deep Space 9), Kathryn Lyn (Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, Lower Decks), Terry Matalas (Star Trek: Picard, Enterprise), and Naren Shankar (Star Trek: The Next Generation, Voyager, and Deep Space 9); moderated by Phil Pirrello. WGA members + one guest.
